I do lots of things, while trying to have as much fun as possible.

I am still alive, just really busy.

So much is going on at the moment, I’ve kind of neglected this place.

But second year of Uni is going pretty well, met even more wonderful, creative and talented people.

Been running around like a headless chicken trying to sort out my society each week and making sure everyone has a great time. Surprisingly enough I get people coming up to me after almost every session saying how they enjoyed it, so I must be doing something right.

On the subject of my society, it’s called Anicom (Teesside Animation and Comics Society) and does exactly what it says on the tin. I’ve had almost every previous committee member telling me that it will break me and turn me into a bitter husk of a man.

I can see where they are coming from, but I’m confident that I’ll prove them wrong.

Going back to the course itself, the lecturers have not wasted any time in dropping us in the deep end. Got about 5 assignments at the moment, with 3 of them being quite large projects.

But one sticks out above all of them, the Scriptwriting module.

I had immense fun and also got incredibly stressed when writing last years one.

So what did I decide to do? I decided to not only do the script for the module, but take part in the BBC Future Talent Scriptwriting award as well.

This means instead of writing a short film I have the option of three things, either write a half-hour comedy pilot, a one-hour stand alone drama or an hour long drama pilot. I chose the latter and thought I’d do something a bit different.

This idea has been knocking around in my head for a good while now and only now has had the chance to truly develop. At the moment it’s working title is Dreamtime, which coincidentally is what I named the blog after. (Funny that)

The premise is that a group of schoolkids find a portal to another universe, on their first visit one of them becomes seperated from the group and goes missing. The goal of the series is to find the missing friend, while having to deal with issues in both the real and alternate universes.

That’s due in for the 9th December.

But what’s really cool is one of the first year Games Art students has begun to draw character sheets for the protagonists. Once he gets them scanned, I’ll start posting and giving a bit more info on the project as it develops.
